Lawrence Anthony (1950-2012) was owner and head of conservation at Thula Thula Game Reserve in KwaZulu-Natal and founder of The Lawrence Anthony Foundation. He received the UN's Earth Day Medal for his rescue of Baghdad Zoo during the invasion of Iraq. He is the author (with Graham Spence) of Babylon's Ark and The Elephant Whisperer.
