Win Hooper's letters on the experiences of the small Rhodesian diplomatic enclave stranded in Washington, DC after Ian Smith's Unilateral Declaration of Independence in November 1965. Her husband, John Hooper, and Ken Towsey, operated the Rhodesian Information Office from 1965 to 1978.

Tony Hooper, Win and John Hooper's son, lives in Wellington, New Zealand.
