A collaboration between graphic artist and printmaker Christiaan Diedericks and Afrikaans poet Melanie Grobler focusing on themes of loss, death, despair and war. This collection grew out of their daily exchange of poems, .

Includes poems by Melanie Grobler, poems by Christiaan Diedericks, as well as several poems created by both poets. Twenty-one artworks, inspired by Hindu sadhus that Diedericks photographed in India, creates an interplay between word and image.

Melanie Grobler's previous collections are Tye en swye in die lewe van Hester H (1992 Rapport Prize for Poetry), Die waterbreker (2005 Eugene Marais Prize), Deur ruite van die reis, Huis van tyd and Alles van waarde is weerloos.

Christiaan Diedericks has participated in over 50 international art residencies and has been invited to represent South Africa in more than 30 international biennales. He won the Kanna award for Fine Arts at the ABSA KKNK festival in Oudtshoorn in 2006. Vlindervreter marks his debut as a poet.
