A reprint of Peter Stiff's account of operations by Koevoet (Afrikaans for 'crowbar'), a paramilitary counter-insurgency unit similar to the Selous Scouts, founded in 1979 to fight against SWAPO fighters during the Namibian War of Independence. Officially known as the South West Africa Counter-Insurgency Unit, it was disbanded in 1989.
