"Another Country" is a follow-up to Reiner Leist's "South Africa: blue portraits", published in 1993. Black and white portraits taken in 1993 are followed by new colour portraits, and accompanied by edited versions of new interviews in which the subjects speak about what has changed for them personally, and in the country, since the original photographs were taken.

Includes portraits of and interviews with: Ray Alexander, Jack & Mary Simons, William Kentridge, David Goldblatt, Franklin Sonn, Bulelani Ngcuka, Annette Seegers & Hlonipha Mokoena Albertina, Walter & Ayanda Sisulu, Nelson Mandela & Ndaba Mandela, Desmond Tutu, Amina & Yusuf Cachalia, Damon Galgut, and Gcina Mhlope.

Reiner Leist is a graduate of Michaelis School of Fine Art, University of Cape Town, the Akademie de Bildenden Kűnste Műnchen and the School of Visual Arts, New York. He teaches Visual Art at Hunter College, The City University of New York.
