Photographs taken between 1967 and 1969 at the notorious Catacombs nightclub in Cape Town, where Billy Monk worked as a bouncer.

The photographs were found by photographer Jac de Villiers in 1979 and first exhibited at the Market Gallery in Johannesburg in 1982. Monk was diving for diamonds off Port Nolloth and couldn't attend. He was fatally shot in an argument on 31 July, two weeks after the opening.
