Wildlife photographers, under the banner 'Wildlife Photographers United , donated images to the book to help raise awareness of the plight of African wild dogs. All profits from sales support organisations working on the ground to protect them.

British wildlife photographer Margot Raggett founded the Remembering Wildlife book series in 2015. Remembering African Wild Dogs is the sixth in the series.

Contributions include the short essay, "An African Wild Dog's Life", by Dedan Ngatia.
