Nathan Trantraal was born in 1983 in Cape Town. His first collection, "Chokers en Survivors" won the 2014 AKTV Woordfees Prize for poetry and the 2015 Ingrid Jonker Prize. Nathan draws the weekly comic strip, "The Richenbaums", for the Cape Times.
