Afrikaans poet, translator, editor and radio announcer Daniel Hugo was born in 1955 in Stellenbosch. He has published 17 previous collections of poetry, the latest of which is Klinkklaar (2021), awarded the AKTV poetry prize. He has worked as a teacher, an academic and an announcer at Radiosondergrense. His articles, columns and reviews have been published in two collections, Vers & Kapittel (2018) en Vers & Kapittel II (2023).
