South African playwright and poet Adam Small (1936-2016) was born in Wellington in the Western Cape in 1936. He is known for his use of Kaaps. In 2012 he was awarded the Hertzog Prize for his contribution to the drama genre. His other poetry collections include Sê Sjibbolet, Oos wes tuis bes: Distrik Ses, with photographs by Chris Jansen, Black bronze beautiful: quatrains, Klaweerjas and District Six, with photographs by Jansje Wissema.
