A collection of fifty-four previously unpublished poetic tributes to Afrikaans poet Lina Spies, submitted at the invitation of the compilers and editors.

Contributors include Daniel Hugo, Marius Crous, Martina Klopper, Hein Viljoen, Thérèse Bartman, Jennifer Pape and Kobus Kotzé.

Lina Spies (b. 1939) received both the 1972 Eugène Marais Prize and 1972 Ingrid Jonker Prize for her first volume of poetry, Digby vergenoeg. Her translation of Anne Frank's diaries was awarded the translation prize by the Suid-Afrikaanse Akademie vir Wetenskap en Kuns. She was Professor of Afrikaans and Dutch Literature at Stellenbosch University from 1987 until her retirement in 1999, and she still lives in Stellenbosch.

Alwyn Roux's debut poetry collection, Weerskyn, won the 2026 Eugène Marais Prize. He is Associate Professor in the Department of Afrikaans and Theory of Literature at the University of South Africa.
