Robert Grendon 'Nongamu' (1867-1949) was a poet, cricketer, scholar, botanist, soldier, journalist, politician and the grandson of a Herero leader, Maharero kaTjamuaha.
His epic poem, "Paul Kruger’s Dream", was written during the Anglo Boer War, when he was in the British army, and combines Greek, Roman, Christian and African mythologies.
