Abstracts of the testimonies of survivors of political violence that took place on the outskirts of Pietermaritzburg in the late 1980s and early 1990s. More than 50 survivors were interviewed by researchers from the Sinomlando Centre, University of KwaZulu-Natal between 2003 and 2007. The survivors described the assaults, murders and damage to property they experienced, as well as how they managed to move forward when the violence ended.
