Adeoye O. Akinola is Head of Research and Teaching at the Institute for Pan-African Thought and Conversation at the University of Johannesburg. He is the author of Globalization, Democracy and Oil Sector Reform in Nigeria (2017) and editor of The Political Economy of Xenophobia in Africa (2018).

Jesper Bjarnesen is a senior researcher at the Nordic Africa Institute in Uppsala, Sweden and an Associate Professor at the University of Uppsala. He is the co-founder of the African Migration, Mobility, and Displacement research network.
