Autobiography by Mokgethi Motlhabi, Professor Emeritus at the University of South Africa, where he taught in the Department of Systematic Theology and Theological Ethics until his retirement in 2009. He also served a term as Director of the School of Humanities,Social Sciences and Theology in the College of Human Sciences.

Motlhabi was born in 1944 in Kagiso, Krugersdorp. His previous positions include Director of the Educational Opportunities Council, chaired by Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and Head of the Department of Contextual Theology and Religion at the University of Venda. he acted briefly as Director of the Black Theology Project before leaving for the USA to further his studies. He has degrees from Chicago Theological Seminary and Boston University, and is the author of The Theory and Practice of Black Resistance to Apartheid: A social-ethical analysis.
