Dianne Du Toit Albertze grew up in Springbok in the Namakwaland. She studied drama at the University of  Stellenbosch and obtained an honours degree in directing in 2018. In 2020 she received the Nati Jongsterre Award for her production Kaap from the Suidoosterfees. bottelnek breek bek is her debut novel.
