A novel set in the Karoo, that moves between the viewpoints of Elizabeth Tenant, a 19th-century author, and Michael, a present-day university student who seeks to decipher Elizabeth's journal, recently discovered in an old trunk.

Director David Ralph Viviers' film/TV work includes Binnelanders, Tali's Baby Diary, Troukoors, Desert Rose, Kanarie, No Hiding Here and Back Sails. He won a Fleur du Cap Award for his theatre work in 2020. Mirage is his debut novel.
