Alex Mawimbi, formerly known as Ato Malinda, was born in Nairobi, Kenya, in 1981 and grew up in the Netherlands, Kenya and the USA. She is currently based in Rotterdam. A multidisciplinary performance artist, her body of work includes drawing, painting, installation, video and ceramics.
