A history of Orania, from the establishment of town in 1963 to house workers building irrigation canals connected to the Vanderkloof Dam, through the development of Orania II after the Afrikaner-Vryheidstigting (AVSTIG) purchased it in 1991, to the building of a bridge for the next growth phase, Orania III.

Orania, a white separatist town in the Northern Cape Province, was founded by a group of Afrikaners in an effort to preserve their identity, language and culture. Orania currently has over 3000 inhabitants.
