Anitra Nettleton is Professor at the University of Johannesburg where she teaches African art and Professor Emeritus at the University of the Witwatersrand. Her books include Engaging Modernities, African Dream Machines and African Art in South Africa, from tradition to township.

Mathias Alubafi Fubah is Senior Research Specialist in the Human and Social Development Research Programme at the Human Sciences Research Council and a research fellow at the Centre for Gender and African Studies, University of the Free State.
