Frank Horley was born in Nakuru, Kenya in 1941. His first illustrations were for Okot p’Bitek’s Song of Lawino and its sequel, Song of Ocol. Other work includes writing and illustrating Kijana, silk-screened by Fred Schimmel, and writing, illustrating and publishing An African Alphabet.
