A tribute to Afrikaans poet, short story writer, translator and critic Johann de Lange (1959-2025). He was awarded the Ingrid Jonker prize for his debut collection of poems, Akwarelle van die dors (1982), the Rapport Prize for Poetry for Wordende naak (1988), and the Hertzog Prize for Poetry for Die algebra van nood (2009).

Afrikaans poet, translator, editor and radio announcer Daniel Hugo has published 18 collections of poetry, the latest of which is Kategismus (2025). His previous collection, Klinkklaar (2021), was awarded the AKTV poetry prize.
