A collection of poems about the community of KwaNobuhle 20 years into South Africa’s democracy. KwaNobuhle is a large township on the outskirts of Uitenhage in the Eastern Cape, originally created for people classified Black by the apartheid state.
Ayanda Billie was born in 1975 in KwaNobuhle, and has lived there all his life. He is the author of two other poetry collections, Avenues of My Soul in English and Umhlaba Umanzi in isiXhosa. He works as a quality inspector at Volkswagen SA.
