Journalist André le Roux's first two books, Struisbaai-blues (1977), a collection of poems, and the novella, Te hel met ouma (1980), were initially banned. He is also the author of two collections of short stories, Sleep vir jou ’n stoel nader (1987) and Kom ons sit sommer by die tafel (2008), and three collections of his columns for Beeld newspaper and Sarie magazine. He lives in Cape Town.
