A novel set in Cape Town and the Eastern Cape, from 1976 to the late 1990s. Thozamile, a young man who comes out as gay, is rejected by his religious mother, shamed by his church, and in love with a white man.
Teacher and playwright Madoda Gcwadi is the author of several novels in isiXhosa. Plays he staged during the apartheid era include The Traffic Jam, Guilty Secret and False Identity. He is Director of Ikapa Writers Forum and a facilitator at the Institute for Healing of Memories.
