Archaeologist Peter Breunig investigated the rock art of AiAiba (Anibib Farm), Erongo Mountains, one of the richest rock art areas in Namibia, and using modern digital methods to make the invisible visible, recorded 4 914 paintings in 208 sites, 14 times the number archaeologist Henri Breuil counted in the mid-20th century.

Professor Dr Peter Breunig (emeritus) was head of the Department of African Archaeology and Archaeobotany at Goethe University's Institute for Archaeological Sciences in Franfurt/Main. His interest in Namibian rock art began in the 1980s.

Dr Gabriel Franke is an Africanist archaeologist at Goethe University and the Frobenius Institute in Franfurt/Main with a special interest in rock art.
