Smith (b. 1969) was recruited to the PAC underground programmes and to APLA, its military wing, in 1985 and spent time in exile in Lesotho. He currently works for the South African Social Security Agency, serves as Secretary for Social Welfare for the APLA Military Veterans Association, and on the National Executive Committee of the South African National Military Veterans Association.
