Retired Judge Bernard Makgabo Ngoepe on significant episodes in his life.

Ngoepe was born in 1947 in Limpopo province. He practised law for many years, first, as an attorney in Limpopo and later as an advocate in Pretoria, acquiring the status of Senior Counsel. He was appointed Judge of the Transvaal Provincial Division in 1995, where he also served as Judge President. He served as an Acting Judge of Constitutional Court of South Africa, and was Chancellor of the University of South Africa until December 2016.
