A collection of creative writing that emerged from a workshop at which Tokoloho Rampai, a sea ice scientist in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Cape Town, spoke about the properties, formation and behaviour of sea ice, especially in the Southern Ocean.

Wamuwi Mbao teaches literature at Stellenbosch University. He is a fiction critic with the Johannesburg Review of Books and editor of Years of Fire and Ash: South African poetry of decolonisation.
