Biography of narrator and praise singer, Buzetsheni Mdletshe, Inyosi yaseNdlunkulu yeSilo, who worked with King Zwelithini for more than fifty years until the king’s death in 2021.

In telling his story, Mdletshe includes information on indigenous knowledge systems and Zulu history and tradition. His book is dedicated to the people of the mountain of KwaCeza, where three boulders are seen as a sign of the Holy Trinity. King Dinuzulu prayed on this mountain on 22 June 1888, before going to battle at the mountain of KwaNdunu.

Nompumelelo Zondi is Vice Dean of Research, Postgraduate Studies and Internationalisation at the University of the Free State. She is the author of Bahlabelelelani – Why Do They Sing? Gender and Power in Contemporary Women’s Songs.
