Radical Makazi, an ongoing project that unfolds as a series of chapters, was first published on Instagram in late 2020 as a collection of images accompanied by texts.

Thandiwe Msebenzi (b. 1991) works in the medium of photography. She grew up in Nyanga in Cape Town, and graduated from the Michaelis School of Fine Art, UCT, in 2014. In the same year she was the recipient of the Tierney photography fellowship award and in 2016 was an ABSA L’Atelier Top Ten.
