Gerrit Pool has been involved with rugby for 60 years. He studied rugby under Danie Craven while a student at Stellenbosch university and played provincial rugby for four years. He trained several South African rugby teams, was technical adviser to Western Province, the Cats and the Springboks, and served for many years on the technical committee of SA Rugby.
