Hannes Wessels was born in 1956 in Salisbury, Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe). He served in the Bush War and later hunted big game professionally. His books include Mike West, Special Forces super-soldier;  P.K. van der Byl: African statesman; A Handful of Hard Men and We Dared to Win.
